February Game: Illustris War Campaign Game

Today we played the third operation of the Illustris Season I Kerkops Operations. We used the Boarding Action rules with the multiplayer scenario Supply Run but four Kill Team Arena boards. We had my Death Guard, Thom's Orks, Nathan's Tyranid Genestealer brood, and Jimmi's Aeldari.

In the end Nathan won by capturing the mobile Farseer objective. The game was fun but a learning exprience for us. We liked the dynamic of Boarding Actions but made some rules mistakes. The Boarding Action Companion is not a good book and not worth the money. The scenario also was not that good, as it fostered two seperate battles. Finally I mucked up with the movable objective rules. Still the Genestealers won mainly because in the cramped quarters of Boarding Actions their numbers blocked arteries of movement. It felt like proper 40k.

You can find the narrative Operation wrap up here

Painting Report January 2026

In December and January I mostly focused on contuning to build and paint my 500 points Imperial Agents force. I also did some loose ends for Battletech and Battlefleet Gothic. I also started working on the other store 40k army (Tyranids), so I have something to paint when I do not have my own miniatures.

Gaming Report: January 2026

The combination of my mother and sister visiting until Jan 10 and the frequent snow days meant that I only got three games in this month. A good haul still. This included

1) A game of Brave Little Belgium for our once a month Historical Day at Challenges- Won as the Entente

2) A  game of Battle Fleet Gothic- Lost as Chaos Nurgle against Imperial Navy

3) The first game in our League of Thousand 1000 point Warhammer 40000 League at Challenges - Won with my Death Guard against World Eaters. All shall rot!
