August 2025 Gaming Summary

August was busy month despite my Summer Semester courses ending in the first week. Zoe's school started on the day my summer semester does, and then Ceren started work a week later. So my short summer break was busy. Still I cannot complain a got in a lot of games:

1) Multiplayer 40k game pitting my Death Guard (1000 points) in a free for all vs. Necrons, Space Marines, and World Eaters. I was not the winner, and while I had fun, I think 40k multiplayer really needs alternating activations.

2) A game of Battlefleet Gothic pitting my Imperial Navy Battlefleet Gothic (1120 points) vs. an equal Chaos Undivided force. A victory for me.

3) Two games of Battletech. A learning game demo at Challanges Games and Comics, and the final game of the thrid season of the Affordable Atrocities Campaign at Level Up -Duluth.

4) Multiplayer Kill Team: Pitting my recently finished Rogue Trader Entourage and Voidsmen vs. Brood Brothers vs. Kriegsmen. The Brood Borthers won. I did not enjoy the game not becuase of losing, or my opponetns (they were great) but the sheet number of things I needed to remember to play my Kill Team overwhelmed me. And RT one is one of the least demanding one. This pretty much led to my decision to back off skirmish gaming (Trench Crusade or KT) in preference for investing into 40k Boarding Actions. It is not that I will not play KT or TC, but I am not investing for them, and they are not on the monthly rotation (which is pretty much 40k, Battletech, and Battlefleet Gothic)
