Twenty Second and Twenty Third Games: Combat Patrol, Mario Cart, Titandeath

Last week I played twice. On Tuesday Vern crushed my DG combat patrol with his Dark Eldar in twenty minutes. Then we played Darren's Mario Kart Gaslands game. On the fourth I went to Vern's place (were he has a huge minis collection) and played a full game of Titandeath for Legio-Imperialis. It was great fun, and I lost despite dominating for two rounds.

Twenty First Game: More Combat Patrol

Last Tuesday we played our classical Necrons vs Tau game with Darren. I lost 42 to 60. There was also a Votaan vs. CSM game in the store. Good show.  Here are the pictures.

Twentieth Game ! A draw in 40k Incursion game, Votaan vs Death Guard

A good, tough game, played two Saturdays ago. My Death Guard took on Steven's Votaan in an incursion level game of Mobil Warfare.  It ended in a draw, which is my first in face to face game in the new 40k. Photos below.

Scenario, set up, and turn 1.

Nineteenth Game: Incursion level game Votaan vs Death Guard

This Tuesday I played an incursion level game using my Death Guard vs. Stephen's Votaan. This was my first game at 1000 points with this army, and I was impressed. A good balance between firepower and melee. We had to call it off around turn 3, as XP was closing. At that point Stephen had a good lead.

Here are some pictures.

Double Whammy! Seventeenth and Eighteenth game of the year. Bloody Big Battles and Super Mario Cart at XP

This Tuesday we had a double whammy. Two games at XP, and for a day that on the colander is called WH40k day, not a Citadel Miniature in sight!

We began with Darren and me playing my Bloody Big Battles, Le Journal De Petite Battailes format Gribomvo 1897 scenario. I took the Ottoman side and Darren the Greek side. This was Darren's second game of BBB. He focused the Greeks on converging attacks on Hanopoulo and Gribomvo and won. We both rolled pretty high and there were a lot of spend and ammo low units, but ultimately the Greeks powered through.

The Setup with Ottomans deployed.

Sixteenth Game of the Year: Tau Civil War CP, and two Turns of BBB LJdPB Gribomvo 1897

I went to XP on Tuesday and set up both my Gribomvo 1897 LJdPB BBB scenario and my Combat Patrol Set up. Usually Vern comes by and he does not play 40k, but he had a mishap, so I played a game of Combat Patrol with Darren. He played the new Tau Combat Patrol and I the old one. We narrated it as a Farsight Enclaves vs .Ethereal battle. In the end I lost decisively, though we both lost most of our forces (My ghost-keel survived, and his Devilfish and breachers) . A good game.

Then Darren obliged me and we played a bit BBB only getting two turns in, but hopefully helping him get the logic of the rules.

Here are random photos from both games.

Project done for now: Combat Patrol and 1000 points of Death Guard

I finally reached a milestone on my Death Guard force. I have enough figures to proxy both the Combat Patrol, and 1000 points. The army is built around a gift by my friend Onur, who gifted me a painted set of 1 Lord of Contagion, 1 Foetid Bloat Drone, 1 Chaos Lord, 10 Poxwlakers, 6 marines (1 plasma gun, 1 that can be used as Icon Bearer).

I added to it

-10 Citadel Poxwalakers

-1 Plague Witch (proxy for Typhus or Deamon Prince), 5x Marine Annihilators (2x Plasma Guns, 1x Blight Laucnher, 1 x Plague Spewer, 1 Plasma pistol), 10 Plague-Walkers, 1 Hellbrute Proxy all designed by Immaterium Gods, printed by Sand and Forge.

-1 Biologus proxy, 3x Deathshroud Terminators proxies designed by Echos from the Abyss, printed by MrAnderson3DPrints.

- bult one marine from parts of Citadel and Immaterium Gods, armed with a meltagun

Total Cost: about 150 USD.

I am missing one marine with a second blight launcher, and one with a heavy weapon+boltgun to be properly representative of all my options.
